The Human Development Center, Inc      

The Elite, youth development and scholarship program was designed and implemented in 2003 by Dr. Holloway.  Since its inception graduating seniors have been awarded over $95,000 in scholarships.

The motto, Above and Beyond was created by Teen Vice-President Rahman Austin (2007-08) and the goal for teens is to go above and beyond academically, in public service, and in leadership.

Teens participate in weekly youth development workshops, monthly college prep workshops & college visits as well as monthly talks from minorities who have benefited from higher education.

Weekly, the students walk through a curriculum designed to last the entire year developed by Dr. Holloway and former director Christal Liddell.

Overall, the program has a 98% college placement rate.  The 2009 college placement rate is 99%.

Additioanlly, teens have the opportunity to exercise their creative and journalistic skills by publishing articles in the newsletter,Yalak now known as The Scene.

If you would like to apply or are a guardian, counselor, or teacher who would like to enroll teens grades 7-12 (414) 449-9908.
